Once again low snow levels were predicted, only this time they got it right. I got up early Saturday morning and drove up to Monument to see if I could get some pictures of the sunrise over the fresh snow. Didn’t quite make it up there by sunrise, although I did stop on the way for some sunrise photos. There wasn’t a lot of snow but it was still very pretty. It was darn cold though, at 31° and winds of about 30-40mph made it possible to only take a few photos before my hands were frozen and I’d have to retreat back to the truck. Definitely need some improvements in the cold weather gear if I’m going to make a habit of this.
