Pirate’s Cove Resort – Boathouse 3D Model
This LiveHome 3D project started from the idea of building a boathouse, and ended up being inspired by a vacation to Mexico we took with our friends Carol and John back in 2002.
On that vacation, we took a cruise on a pirate ship, and had fun racing go-karts at the local track. After coming across a model of a go-kart, I decided to place my boathouse on an island, and have the go-kart track make a lap of the island.
Here the topography tools, and especially the path tool of Live Home 3D came in very handy. The go-kart track is just one really long path with a lot of data points to keep it hugged to the topography.
When I also decided to add the pirate ship and Treasure Beach, the project took a different turn. Rather than being a private home, I decided to make it a vacation resort that you are transported to via the pirate ship.
So instead of being a lake house, the house now sits on an island in a large protected bay where the water is so smooth you can still go waterskiing.
The house therefore was designed to have several guest rooms that can be rented by tourists as well as common rooms for their enjoyment.
A full garage downstairs takes care of all the maintenance for the boats, ATVs, and go-karts.
