Greg and I took off to the redwoods again to scout more locations and plan the itinerary. He recently picked up a 500mm lense which we tried out while hiking near Calf Creek. The ferns in the picture were probably 50 feet above our heads, growing out the side of a redwood tree. This shot was taken with the Fuji digital camera which means the lense had a true focal length of about 750mm. Someday I’ll have to borrow his 1.4 teleconverter and see what it looks like at around 1050mm. Next time Jim Carrey comes to town, he better watch out, I’m going to be looking for that National Enquirer payoff.
