Santa’s Vacation House
This is a house we started working on last year, and while we were working on it, Live Home 3D was updated. Part of the update was nice, as it added a library of Christmas models which fit in perfectly with the theme of this house. But another part of the update was naughty, as it introduced a new bug that prevented us from creating the video tours.
That bug finally got fixed so better late than never, here’s our Christmas project. After spending the whole month of December in a mad crush to get all the toys made in time, and then flying around the world delivering them Christmas night, you can imagine he needs a break, especially from all those noisy elves.
So where does Santa vacation? Well of course someone who loves the cold and isolation of the North Pole isn’t going to hang out in Hawaii or Las Vegas. Nope, he heads to his retreat at the South Pole where he has a multi-level subterranean home along with a hanger for his airplane. After all, the reindeer deserve a break too!
The house is structured on 5 levels, with only the “igloo” entryway above ground. Everything else is access by elevator, although there is a backup set of stairs in case of catastrophic power failure that the generator can’t handle.
Level 1 has the living room, kitchen, dining room, master bedroom, and home theater.
Level 2 has a library, two guest bedrooms and a laundry room/workout gym.
Level 3 is an ice rink and refreshment room.
Level 4 has a hobby room, home office, mechanical room and provides access to the viewing room and the submarine dock.
The hallways are painted in rainbow colors, starting with red at the surface and ending up blue at the bottom level. Each hallway and room has themed photos, such as birds in the dining room, and predators in the hobby room.
