Loleta Lupines
Looking back at last month, my updates were once again pretty pitiful. Between the visit to see Mom and Dad (and the number of things that went wrong that trip) plus the start of the Ferndale Fire Dept donation drive, I didn’t have many free nights at the end of the month to sit here and type. The weather the last part of April was fantastic, and I made several trips out to my favorite piece of driftwood. Good thing too, because the lupine were getting so high that it was hard to find it from the trail if you didn’t know it was there. On a warm evening Haley and I took another hike out to photograph her posing on the log. Extra points to the photographer for matching the color of her swimsuit to the flowers. To get this angle, I carried a 6 foot ladder out to the spot, which is a 20 minute hike from the parking lot. That was in addition to the backpack of camera gear and the tripod. I was a bit sore the next day, but the resulting photographs were worth the extra effort.
