It’s not supposed to work like this, but I can relate because last year it happened to me. The guy at the valve is supposed to wait for a signal from the nozzle guy that he is ready for water. Sometimes people get excited and turn it on a little too early. At this point you pretty much give up because there’s no way you’re going to get a nozzle on once the water starts flowing at 150 lbs/in. It was looking like Company 1 was going to be cooking hamburgers again until Company 3 pulled this manuever and saved us the embarrassement.
