African Tree House
After we built our castle in England, our next project was to travel to Africa and build a tree house. This was Lori’s idea, and I wasn’t sure if it was going to be technically possible, as the program didn’t allow you to build a 2nd floor without having a 1st floor.
A little experimentation, and I was able to build a tiny 1st floor and hide it in the trunk of the tree. I’m pretty sure these aren’t native African trees, but I needed something without a bunch of branches getting in the way. Let’s just say a lot of advanced planning was needed to plant this grove of trees a hundred years ago.
The compound has two buildings, the main house, and a guest house, both connected by a suspension bridge.
The reason for the tree house is that there are lions below, but it also ended up the perfect height for saying hello to friendly giraffes.
The photos and video also make use of one really cool feature of Live Home 3D. You can not only set the actual location of your building, but you can change the weather, and the time of day. I felt that dusk was most appropriate for this building as it shows off the festive lighting we installed.
