I saw this bird sitting in one of the willow trees in the back yard. I tried getting a picture of it while it was sitting there, but the only camera I had at home was my little Pentax so I tried going out on the deck to get closer. Of course just as I snapped the shutter it took off, but I did manage a second shot as it flew over the barn. It looked sort of like an eagle or hawk, but didn’t have familiar markings. Lori and I spent some time pouring through our bird book and online and figured out it must have been an Osprey.
