Our Day Off
Lori and I had a rare day off, and what a gorgeous day it ended up being. Lori wanted to stay home and clean, I talked her into going to the zoo, and then up to Route 1. The Eureka Zoo is no San Francisco or San Diego experience, but there were lambs for Lori to pet so she enjoyed it. The real treat was Route 1 where we were treated to one of the best wildflower displays I have ever seen. It reminded me of Colorado’s sub alpine areas. Mostly there were carpets of various purple and yellow flowers, but the whole spectrum was covered. I’ll be featuring a few of them later this week. We also found one small patch of snow remaining, and Lori built a small snowgirl, which was very cute and I’ll try and feature that later this week as well. The floral display was so pretty, Greg and I are planning a sunrise excursion back to the area for Wednesday, taking some large and medium format cameras, and the panorama rig.
