Blue Man Group
I went to Haz-Mat drill for the fire department this morning. The first part of the drill was a tour of the Humboldt Creamery plant, which is located right by Fernbridge. They make some of the best ice cream in the world right there. Most of the tour we wandered through big rooms filled with huge stainless steel tanks and miles of stainless steel plumbing. But we also got to see tubs of neopolitan ice cream being filled and it was interesting to see how they filled the tub with three flavors simultaneously. There were a couple of rooms where they were storing the ingredients for different flavors that would have been a nice place to become trapped. Strawberries, butterscotch, fudge, caramel, coffee and pralines were only a few of the ingredients I noticed. Yum Yum! So that leads us to the second part of the drill which was an exercise and two unlucky attendees got to wear the blue suits. I got the experience of wearing one of these suits during a Haz-Mat class, and after just a few minutes I was ready to get out of it. They don’t fit real well, they’re hard to see out of, and you’re breathing inside of it through an SCBA.
