Wedding Dress
Landmark day! Not only did the lights finally arrive, but we booked our first studio portrait session for a lady in town who felt her grandkids needed pictures of her with her “white” hair. Seems it’s been awhile since she’s had her picture taken. I couldn’t resist playing with the new lights so we dressed up a form with a wedding dress that Lori got from a lady in Hydesville. This dress came as part of a collection we bought after the lady saw the article in the paper about Lori. Since Lori wants to create vintage inspired wedding dresses, I figured it was about time we added a wedding dress to the collection.
My initial reaction after using the new lights are that they are way cool. It is a three light set that is remote controlled. Sounds frivolous, but when one light is suspended about 10′ in the air, it really makes sense, and it means fewer cords to trip over. My first set of lights was a great bargain and they served me well for several years, but it feels really good to finally have professional level lighting equipment. Especially since the old ones were really starting to fall apart.
We also got our digital photographic printer in, but they haven’t installed it yet so I can’t report on it other than it is the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought that I couldn’t drive or sleep in.
