Made out of very sheer silk chiffon, with only the slightest decoration in the border. One article about 1930s shawls we came across mentions ladder stitching, although it doesn’t show any photos of what is meant by that term, and we couldn’t find use of the term anywhere else. But it’s easy to imagine calling the hem treatment shown in the detail photo as ladder stitching due to it’s open spacing.
