A great example of a sheer, beaded, flapper dress. Matt purchased this dress to use for his boudoir portraits. Elegant when worn with a slip, it is even more exotic when worn with nothing underneath. Best of all, unlike many of the Victorian clothes, this garment fits a wide variety of women.
Dating flapper dresses is tough because styles didn’t change too much the whole decade, except that hemlines got shorter. Due to the length of the hemline on this dress, it is probably from the first half of the decade. Of course it’s hard to know the hem length without knowing who originally wore it, since there is no waist to help approximate the length. It could be a long dress made for a short woman, or a shorter dress made for a taller woman.
