What a shoot this was. The model traveled up to Ferndale to shoot with me, and on the way up she hit a deer on the freeway, totaling her car and sending her to the hospital in Ukiah. I picked her up at the hospital and was surprised to find out she was at least 50 pounds heavier than the photos in her portfolio, which ruled out the vintage garments I had planned for the shoot. She also had scratches all over her face from the deer hitting the windshield, so I thought we should just cancel the shoot and put her on a bus home.
She was determined to go through with the shoot, and fortunately we have this one dress in our collection that fits a larger size. We went out to Petrolia to pick apples and visit the cemetery. I will give her this, she could act, and was able to cry on command at the cemetery.
