This is Shelley, a 16 year old from Eureka who thought she wanted to be a model. She also wanted to get dressed up in Victorian clothes. After spending an hour tightly cinched into a corset, I think she was happy to go back to being a regular teenager. The bodice that she is wearing was donated by a friend from the VPA who was cleaning out her closets. Thanks Toby! Since I’m shooting digital almost 100% these days, I find it is easier to set up lights by taking a picture and checking the results on the camera’s LCD screen. Usually when I’m doing this I tell the model to relax, that I’m just taking test shots. Shelley had fun with it though, and was the first to do this.
