Here’s the big hole. Looks like a lap pool is going in, which wouldn’t be such a bad idea except that our weather isn’t conducive to outdoor swimming very often. This will be our reflecting pond, which is going to be the centerpiece of our secret garden. Of course in order to be secret, it will need some hedges, but first things first. We also had some of the rocky dirt taken out by the driveway and then replaced that with the dirt from the hole. I’ve also been rototilling the yard, trying to stay ahead of the weeds, which were pretty abundant after we had the manure brought in.

Note: This plan never came to fruition. With all the flooding we decided a pond would be a maintenance headache, so it was later filled in, and the secret garden became our vegetable garden.
