Polishing the Wheels
Speaking of the Del Sol, I came across a photo of it recently that was taken just after we got the polished rims put on it. The local climate had really done a number on them and it reminded me of how good they looked when they were new. I had remembered seeing a Power Ball polishing attachment at the Kragon’s last time I was there so while I was picking up some coolant fluid I bought one to see if it would make the job a bit easier. I had tried polishing them once before but it took so long and it didn’t really work that well with the method I used before. The ball didn’t at first either they were so heavily corroded. But I found that wet sanding them first with 600 grit sand paper got them to the point where the polishing compound and the ball worked pretty well. Now they look a lot better and it should be easier to keep them that way. If only there was something so simple to fix the failing paint job.
