Ferndale has a brand new fire truck to replace the aging Engine 2. It won’t be put into service until later this week when the radios are installed. I will believe that it will fit in the hall when I see it. I think it must clear the door by inches. OSHA regulations now require that fire engines have enclosed cabs for the firefighters, so no more riding on the pump panel. (Riding on the back tailboard went away many years ago) So packaging the tank, pump, ladders and hose into a package that will fit the length and height of our historic hall was a challenge.
