In Case You Missed It
Here’s the subject of my recent trip down to the Bay Area. The display case probably dates from the 1880s or so, and was manufactured by the Western Fixture Co., in San Francisco. The side seen in the picture is actually the back, it’s really meant to be a free standing case, where the sales people would be behind it and the public would be in front. However, having a small space to put it in to, we don’t have that option. Since the doors open on the back, we had to set it up that way. At least that way you get to see the nice hardware on the drawers and they are accessible. But the front does present a bit more finished appearance. Lori did a nice job setting up the first display of vintage clothing from our collection.
