Exploring the Creek
After staying with Blake in San Jose for a couple of days to help him get situated, I spent the last week of my ‘vacation’ painting the barn and working on other house projects. I didn’t take any pictures, and you’re all probably tired of pictures of the barn anyways. Lori and I decided to go camping and I wanted to check out the fall color at my favorite pond. I looked up the pond on Google Earth to see if I could find a name for it, but it doesn’t appear to be named on any maps that I could find. So I figured I’d name it Double Creek Pond, since it is fed by two creeks.
We had fun exploring the downstream creek where it empties, and found crawdads and water snakes. We also found a small herd of cows which explained all the huge cow pies in the prime camping spots. Seemed an unlikely spot to find cows, and I was glad we had brought our own water supply.
