Chelsea and Jessica W.
Lori and I spent the afternoon watching and photographing these two girls play dress up. On the left, is Chelsea, who you met earlier at the beach. She is modeling a dress that is dated to about 1918. On the right is Jessica W., not to be confused with Jessica D., who you have met before. I met Jessica W. while she was working at the Blacksmith Shop, and then again during the Ferndale High School’s fashion show. Jessica is modeling a dress dated from about 1916. Both dresses were gifts to Lori from Mom. The white dress is perhaps the most complicated piece of clothing to get into that we have. It seems like the Edwardians really had a thing for making dresses with dozens of hooks, buttons and snaps. This one has three different layers that all attach in various manners and it’s a bit of a puzzle to figure out the correct order to attach everything.
